Intrepid blogs from Bangkok
MELBOURNE – The Bangkok office of adventure tour operator Intrepid Travel has launched a blog to provide a local’s view into the ongoing political tension in Bangkok.
Intrepid Travel says it has been running small group adventures in Thailand for more than 20 years and its team in Bangkok is experienced in managing situations that arise due to political unrest and natural disasters.
“They live, work and play in Bangkok so provide a very real perspective on what is occurring.”
The blog will be updated regularly to provide an insight into what daily life is like in the city and what decisions Intrepid Travel is making regarding the running of its trips.
Intrepid Travel says it is still able to operate its Thailand trips.
It has taken some precautionary measures such as switching the train stations it uses in Bangkok to avoid the protest areas.
Here’s a blog from Intrepid’s own representative in Bangkok, posted on Sunday.
“Intrepid trips remain largely unaffected and our operations team continues to monitor the situation. We’re privileged to have an amazing network of local leaders and suppliers, which combined with having our own office here in Bangkok is a huge advantage when trying to keep your finger on the pulse.
"Sadly…these are the people being affected the most as they see their business levels drop, they’re putting on a brave face but we know they’re worried.”
