Is this the best Victoria has to offer?

RACV’s online voting campaign to find Victoria 101 best tourism experiences has reached the halfway mark with more than 37,000 visits to the website from RACV members and the public since voting started in early May.

The challenge now is to work out if the current top 101 attractions are the best Victoria has to offer.

With votes closing in August, the RACV campaign encourages all Victorians to vote for what they feel is worthy of being recognised as the best tourist experience in the state.

The Great Ocean Road has topped the list for the past five weeks, with Wilsons Promontory at number two and Walhalla jumping to number three.

Neil James, RACV’s General Manager, Tourism and Travel, is encouraging Victorians to make sure their favourite destinations are well represented.

“Victoria has many great tourism experiences,” said Mr. James, “and RACV members and all other Victorians have to make sure the top 101 reflect this.”

“It’s not too late to make a difference by voting or nominating your favourite experience.”

The current top 101 Victorian experiences are spread across the state, with only 15 per cent located in the City of Melbourne.

“It’s surprising that there are still no Melbourne attractions in the top 10,” said Mr. James, “but this also shows the strength of Victoria’s rural and regional tourism experiences.”

The overall top 101 Victorian tourism experiences will be announced in late September and monthly prizes of $1000 travel vouchers are up for grabs for those leaving a comment on the voting page.

Voting for Victoria’s favourite tourism experiences is open at www.racv.com.au
