Thursday, 21 Aug, 2007 0

Between the Jewish New Year on 13 September and the end of the Feast of Tabernacles on 4 October, Israel plays host to its largest influx of tourists with many Jewish visitors coming to celebrate Judaism’s major festivals and many thousands of Christians who come for the Feast of Tabernacles which is also the Jewish festival Succot.

Traditionally this is the toughest time to find accommodation in Israel and if your clients want to be assured of accommodation in The Old City of Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives at this time of the year, then they have to book early.

Greece and Mediterranean Travel Centre has announced a range of Israel options starting with 2 and 3 night hotel/ tour packs in Jerusalem and special rates for additional nights.

Two night pack prices are from, $374 pp twin share and three night packs are from $567 pp share twin.  The packs include accommodation with full Israeli buffet breakfast daily, return transfers between the airport and the Jerusalem hotel and a full day tour on 2 nights packs and two full day tours on a three night pack.

They also offer an extensive range of Israel tour options and their Egypt brochure and web site include a range of 5, 6 and 8 day Israel tour options as well as combinations with Jordan.

GMTC has an exclusive one off 6 Day Israel Prelude + Beersheba program departing on October 27 which will include participation at the 90th anniversary commemoration of the Australian Light Horse charge at Beersheba, Australia’s most dramatic military victory in World War I.

The 90th anniversary commemorations will include a re-enactment of the 1917 charge, an event which fundamentally altered shaped history of the entire Middle East.
