Four days spent exploring the Italian lakes of Maggiore, Lugano and Como mark the beginning of a 17 day tour which also takes in the Amalfi coast, Tuscany and stays three nights in Rome.

Beginning at Stresa on Lake Maggiore, travellers with the Albatross Travel Group ‘The Italian’ tour also spend four nights in Tuscany at Montecatini Terme, the base from which they visit Florence, Lucca, the five villages of Cinque Terre and Pisa.

A further three nights in Sorrento allows visits to the island of Capri, the ruins of Pompeii and Italian Riviera towns such as Positano and Amalfi. Hotels include Castelbrando, once a Roman fortress overlooking a valley in the Dolomites.

The tour concludes with tours of the Vatican and the classic monuments of the Eternal City.

Cost is $5,889 which includes daily breakfasts, 13 dinners, entrance fees, hotel porterage, guides and end of tour tips. There are no optional extra costs. Group size is capped at 30.

There are six departure dates from May to September and all departures are guaranteed.
