Italy strikes will disrupt flights today
Airlines are warning of flight disruption due to a general strike in Italy today (Friday).
The strike from 10:00 to 18:00 local time will run alongside an air traffic controllers strike from 12:00 to 16:00 local time.
EasyJet said every airline flying to and from Italy, as well as those flying within Italian airspace, will be affected.
It has cancelled nine flights operating to and from the UK and another 28 across its network.
The strikes are likely to impact travel for Rugby fans flying to Rome’s Stadio Olimpico for the last game of the Six Nations on Saturday.
Cardiff Airport’s website said: “Due to proposed strike action in Italy, passengers travelling to Rome on Friday, March 20, are advised to check flight details with their airline directly to ensure they are aware of any potential disruption and/or changes to their flight schedule.
“Unless advised otherwise by the airline please check in as normal.”
