ITB Berlin
At ITB Berlin, members of the general public can see the numerous highlights and celebrities that the world’s largest travel trade show has to offer from March 7-11.
Occupying its own hall (5.2b), India will be presenting dream hotels, tours to impressive cultural attractions thousands of years old, and the diversity of this sub-continent’s countryside. Cultural travel to destinations in Europe, Asia and Africa, as well as the fascinating ITB Book World with travel guides, maps and superbly illustrated books can be found at the Palais am Funkturm. Music and art performances on a large stage will ensure exciting entertainment throughout the day.
On the Sunday of the fair astronauts Valeriy Polyakov and Story Musgrave will be recounting their adventures in space. Visitors can find out all they need to know about private bookings for space trips. Hall 4.1 promises pure adventure, showing expeditions, adventure and discovery tours. Presenter Judith Adlhoch of Voxtours will be hosting exciting talkshows on the latest travel destinations. The culinary aspect of these trips will be highlighted by star chef Ralf Zacherl, who will be showing how imaginative cookery can create that holiday atmosphere at home.
At a fashion show entitled WeltGewänder, the German relief organisation Deutsche Welthungerhilfe will be exhibiting a collection designed by German fashion school members using many different and exotic fabrics from Mali, India and Peru. Reduced-rate tickets for visits by the public to the ITB open days can be bought online for 11 euros, or directly at the ticket office for 13 euros. Admission for children up to the age of 14 accompanied by an adult is free. Visit: http://www.itb-berlin.de/
