ITB to run Asia event
The organisers of ITB in Berlin are to run an even in Singapore for the Asian travel industry.
ITB Asia will be held on October 22-24 at Suntec in Singapore, aiming to become the primary event for the Asia Pacific travel trade.
A B2B trade show and convention will run side by side to create what the organisers say will be creating new and cost-effective networking and business opportunities for outbound buyers from the region.
Raimund Hosch, CEO of ITB organiser Messe Berlin said: “The show is intended to ride the wave of generational transition taking place across the Asia-Pacific, clearly the most important travel market of this century.”
The show intends to embrace small and medium-sized businesses that could not afford to participate in global events and have not found regional shows useful for making the right contacts, according to the organisers.
“This is of utmost importance for emerging market players – eg small hotels, online travel agents, incoming agencies –that very often have the most attractive and innovative products but so far lacked the opportunity to present themselves to the right buyers for their products,” said Hosch.
