Japan travel campaign to be extended
Japan will continue offering its domestic travel discount campaign in 2023.
Japan’s tourism minister said the campaign will extend into next year.
Saito Tetsuo said the current program ends on December 28 but will resume in 2023.
Saito hasn’t said yet when exactly it will start again.
Domestic travellers can save up to ¥8,000 ($58) per person per night on packages and public transport.
Saito said the campaign and relaxed borders have boosted demand but it is still a long way off pre-pandemic levels.
