Jet, airport truck collision injures eight people at Los Angeles
Los Angeles airport officials say they have concluded an investigation into a collision at Los Angeles airport which injured eight people.
An airport food truck carrying eight was struck by an Aeromexico jet and tipped over on a taxiway.
Six men and two women, all occupants of the truck, were taken to hospital, said Brian Humphrey, spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.
None are thought to be life threatening injuries but the two women were most seriously injured, authorities said.
The aircraft’s right wing struck the vehicle and suffered unspecified damage.
It did not cause a fuel leak and the jet was able to taxi to its gate as normal. None of the 146 passengers and crew on the plane were injured.
The jet has been grounded since the incident while a safety inspection and repairs are carried out.
