Jet Airways pilots grounded for allowing friend in cockpit
Jet Airways revealed it grounded two senior pilots after they allowed a friend into the cockpit for the duration of a Goa-Mumbai flight.
The incident took place several months ago but only came to light publically after the airline put one of the pilots back on duty in error, despite having his license suspended by regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
"An administrative oversight led to a Jet Airways pilot, currently off flying duties, being assigned a training flight after completing a ground training session. The company has proactively reported the event to the DGCA and has already fixed the gap in the assignment process," the airline said.
