Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have announced details of the group’s expansion at Glasgow Airport, with over 1.3 million seats on sale for summer 2020.

Two destinations have been added: a weekly Sunday service to Costa de Almeria and a Monday and Friday flight to Krakow.

In addition, extra aircraft will be based at the airport for the peak holiday season, bringing the total during busy times to eight.

The fleet will support 34 sun and city destinations, with 300,000 more seats than last summer, a capacity increase of 30%.

During peak periods this summer, the company will operate 220 weekly flights from Glasgow Airport as a result of the expansion announced today.

Additional flights have been added to Palma Majorca and Menorca in the Balearics; Tenerife and Fuerteventura in the Canaries; Malaga and Alicante in mainland Spain; Corfu and Crete in Greece; Dalaman and Antalya in Turkey; Faro in the Algarve and Bourgas in Bulgaria.

Jet2 CEO Steve Heapy said: "This expanded programme has come in response to the continued demand from customers in Glasgow and Scotland."

Glasgow Airport managing director Mark Johnston, said: "Jet2.com’s decision to introduce an additional aircraft during our peak season is tremendous."
