Budget carrier Jet2.com is adding Cork as a second destination from Newcastle Airport.
Flights start on October 20 with prices starting at £9 one-way including taxes.
Jet2.com launches its first flights from the North East airport with a service to Murcia in Spain in just over a week.
The route to Cork – European Capital of Culture – is to be supported by an advertisng and marketing campaign in the Tyneside region.
