Jet2 fills Thomas Cook void at Manchester and Birmingham
Jet2 has announced expansion at Manchester and Birmingham Airports to meet ‘unprecedented demand’ following Thomas Cook’s demise.
It is adding hundreds of thousands of seats for summer 2020 from both airports, a 16% rise in capacity at Manchester and a 23% jump at Birmingham.
At Manchester, it is adding four aircraft and introducing a new route to Skiathos, operating two flights a week from early May until September.
It has already added Preveza in Greece, Zada in Croatia and Tivat in Montenegro from Manchester, Thomas Cook’s hub.
At Birmingham, Jet2 will deploy three extra aircraft and will introduce flights to Skiathos and Barcelona.
It has already announced new routes to Preveza, Budapest, Kefalonia, Murcia and Nice.
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays CEO Steve Heapy said the extra capacity was a ‘significant investment’.
