Jet2 pulls summer plug on Croatia and mainland Spain
Jet2 will operate its final outbound flight to Croatia on Sunday after scrapping the rest of the summer programme.
The operator said it made the ‘difficult decision’ to cancel the remainder of the season following the ‘on-going uncertainty caused by the Covid-19 pandemic’.
It has also ruled out any further flights or holidays to mainland Spain for rest of the summer.
Croatia was removed from the UK safe travel list on August 20. Mainland Spain, the Balearics and Canary Islands had been removed on July 25.
Jet2 last week suspended the rest of the season to the Balearics, although no decision has yet been made regarding the Canary Islands.
Responding to customer questions about the Canaries on twitter, Jet2 said: "We will be providing an update on the Canary Islands once we receive more information from the relevant authorities."
Jet2 said it is operating a number of empty outbound flights to pick up customers from Dubrovnik and Split and is ‘contacting customers where affected to advise them of their options regarding flying back to the UK’.
It said there is availability on inbound flights ‘and our pricing reflects this’.
"On the occasion where there is an increased cost, customers can get in touch with us with their booking information and we can assure them that any difference in cost between the original and new fares will be refunded," the company said.
