Jet2 reveals cost of passenger compensation
Compensation payments to passengers whose flights have been delayed and cancelled will cost regional carrier Jet2 £17 million this year.
The figure was revealed in a trading update to the London Stock Exchange by parent company Dart Group this morning.
However, the Group said winter losses were lower than expected, so operating profit for the year to the end of March will be ahead of current market expectations and broadly in line with last year when it made £49.2 million.
It said forward bookings for summer 2015 are ‘encouraging’ with over 50% of the season already sold, which is ahead of this time last year.
