JetBlue adding more Atlanta routes

Monday, 18 Aug, 2017 0

JetBlue is doubling its flight network at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport.

JetBlue launched service to Atlanta earlier this year with five flights a day from Boston, and will add a further five flights from next March.

JetBlue announced two flights a day to New York’s JFK, two to Fort Lauderdale and one daily flight to Orlando from Atlanta.

"Customers flying between Boston and Atlanta have shown a strong appetite for a competitive option like JetBlue, and we anticipate we’ll see the same for the New York, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando routes," said JetBlue’s executive vice president of commercial and planning Marty St. George.

The routes will be operated by Airbus A320 jets.

The new flights begin later than JetBlue had intended because it has struggled to get its hands on gates at Delta Air Lines’ primary hub airport.

Earlier this year JetBlue questioned the dominance of Delta and other established carriers at ATL which it claims made it difficult for new entrants.
