JetBlue launching daily New York-Reno service
JetBlue said it will start direct New York-Reno flights in May, becoming the carrier’s 89th destination as it expands its network in the West.
Daily flights to Reno-Tahoe International Airport will take off from May 28 from New York JFK and is a new route not served by any of JetBlue’s competitors.
"A nonstop link between Reno-Tahoe International Airport and New York City is long overdue. JetBlue is pleased to provide the only direct service linking the East Coast to an airport that is the gateway to so many great year-round destinations in the Reno-Tahoe region," said James Hnat, JetBlue’s general counsel and executive vice president of legal & government affairs.
"Landing nonstop daily service on an incredible airline like JetBlue is an example of what this region can do when it works together for a common goal," added Marily Mora, CEO of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority.
"This will be a game changer for us."
To kick off the new service, JetBlue has offered an introductory fare of $89 one way available for flights between May 28 and June 17 but must be booked by January 16.
JetBlue director of route planning John Checketts said after the introductory fare period, regular fares on the route will average at about $450 round trip.
