Jetset Travelworld announces massive forecast increase
Jetset Travelworld, claimed to be Australia’s leading retail travel network, has announced a forecast increase of between 40% and 45% in profit after tax for the half year to 31 December 2006, comparing favourably with the $3.146 million profit after tax reported for the comparable previous half year.
The newly appointed Chairman, John M C King, said the solid performance was achieved against a backdrop of strong market conditions with high consumer confidence in travelling, adding, “I am very pleased, as the new Chairman of Jetset Travelworld Limited, to be announcing such a strong anticipated result”
The Group’s CEO, Michael Reed, attributed the continuation of the profit announcements to a clear focusing of the Group’s efforts, saying, “We have put increased emphasis on marketing and selling our preferred partners, and this focus has begun to provide significant growth in earnings”.
He added, “We also aim to deliver above-market growth for our shareholders, franchisees and preferred partners and are well on track to deliver our online booking engine, which will play a vital role in the way forward, in March 2007.”
