Jetstar back in Phuket
Low cost airline Jetstar has restarted flights to Phuket.
Thailand holidays are back with Jetstar’s first flight to Phuket since Australia’s borders opened.
Flights resumed from Sydney and depart Melbourne from 13 January.
They are the first Jetstar flights to Thailand flight since 26 March 2020.
Operated by Boeing 787-8 aircraft, Sydney flights operate three times per week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, and twice weekly from Melbourne.
International flights to other destinations in Jetstar’s network, including Bali, Japan and Vietnam are scheduled to resume in the first part of 2022 as quarantine requirements ease, subject to government and regulatory approval.
"It is an exciting day for travellers and also for our crew, many of whom used to love operating to Thailand regularly pre-pandemic. Thailand has consistently been one of our most popular overseas holiday destinations since we started flying there in 2007, and our research tells us that Phuket still remains high on the list of places Aussies want to go," Jetstar CEO Gareth Evans said.
Jetstar also extended credit vouchers for use until at least 31 December 2022, for flights up to the end of 2023
