Jim Luttjohann takes helm at Santa Fe CVB
Santa Fe’s Convention and Visitors Bureau has announced the appointment of a new executive director.
Jim Luttjohann, a long-time seasonal resident of Santa Fe and former executive director of the Ventura California CVB, took over the reins at Santa Fe CVB on August 6.
In conversation with TravelMole’s editor Gretchen Kelly at Santa Fe’s venerable La Casa Sena restaurant, Luttjohann pointed out that he will be drawing on a lifetime of personal connection to the region to help highlight what makes travel to the city special.
"Santa Fe offers a state of the art convention center, full service hotels with beautiful meeting spaces, and tons of alternative venues for all caliber of meetings and events," Luttjohann said. "Offerings for off-site activities and team building range from wilderness adventures to sophisticated cultural activities. What could be better than meeting for a few hours, taking a rafting trip on the Rio Grande, and then hitting an opera performance all in a day?"
Luttjohann’s pedigree includes taking Ventura’s CVB through a comprehensive re-branding process, two strategic planning processes, and expanded operations, including the development of two Visitors Centers and a Film Office. Previous to that he was Director of Operations at the Ventura Music Festival Association from 2001 to 2004.
Luttjohann was nominated for the Santa Fe position after an extensive national search done by the City of Santa Fe.
