Josefa Tuamoto takes the helm at Blue Lagoon Cruises
Blue Lagoon Cruises in Fiji has this morning announced the appointment of Jo Tuamoto as General Manager, effectively immediately.
Jo, one of the few Fijians in senior management in tourism in Fiji, steps up into the newly created role after 12 months acting as the Fijian tourism icon’s Deputy General Manager – Sales & Marketing.
He will now assume now full responsibility for all aspects of the company operation – both internationally and domestically.
In his 12 months with Blue Lagoon Cruises Jo has overseen several major changes, including senior management and staff changes, the sale of the MV Yasawa Princess and major refurbishment programs carried out to both the MV Mystique Princess and the cruise company’s flagship, MV Fiji Princess.
These include new onboard equipment and upgraded passenger facilities.
Prior to joining Blue Lagoon Cruises in March 2007, Jo was employed as Director of Marketing for the Fiji Visitors Bureau (FVB).
His extensive international experience also includes stints in both Australia and the United States where he served as the FVB’s Regional Director.
The epitome of the smiling and welcoming Fijian nation and a true amabassador, Jo is a native of tiny Namuka in Macuata Province off the north coast of Vanua Levu and holds an MBA in marketing from the University of Wales and a BSc from the University of the South Pacific.
Congratulations Jo!
