The first stage of the construction process for Celebrity Cruises’ ship Celebrity Eclipse has taken place.
The keel has been laid in a German shipyard signalling the start of building work on the vessel, due for delivery in 2010.
Celebrity Eclipse is the third in the premium line’s five-ship Solstice class fleet and is due to start sailing from Southampton from next summer.
The first, Celebrity Solstice, entered service in November, with Celebrity Equinox scheduled for delivery in July this year, followed by Celebrity Eclipse next year.
