Key travel appointment by Yahoo! in advance of sponsored search platform
Tracey Cheffey, former head of travel for Sky TV’s Sky Text, has joined Yahoo! Search Marketing as category director for travel.
She will work “consultatively” with major travel clients to ensure they continue to achieve maximum return on investment from their Yahoo! Search Marketing campaigns, the company said.
Cheffey will also provide the industry with research and analysis commissioned by Yahoo! that enables clients to optimise their expenditure.
Regional sales director, Northern Europe, Richard Firminger said: “We are delighted to appoint Tracey to this position and welcome such a well respected travel industry professional to the team. This will be a particularly challenging role for her as the company prepares for the roll-out of our new sponsored search platform, Panama.
“This will be an exciting proposition for all our travel advertisers as our completely re-designed search marketing platform allows them to target users online with greater relevancy – which will translate into superior return on their advertising spend.”
Cheffey said: “Search marketing is an essential marketing tool for the travel industry and I am delighted to be in a position where I can assist clients with research and analysis to achieve their marketing objectives.”
