Khiri Travel issues Philippines earthquake update
Asia DMC Khiri Travel has issued an update for travellers following a powerful earthquake which struck the Philippines this week.
The 6.9 magnitude quake struck off the central coast of the Philippines, near Cebu and the Visayas region.
“Our thoughts are with all communities affected during this difficult time, and we extend our deepest sympathy to those who have experienced damage or loss,” the company said.
“We can confirm that all clients in the affected region are safe, and our local teams have been in immediate contact with everyone.”
“Our teams are closely monitoring official advisories to ensure any aftershocks or developments are addressed promptly,” the Khiri Travel message added.
It said some itineraries have been adjusted to reroute customers away from the impacted areas.
“Our local ground teams remain fully operational and ready to provide support and assistance as needed.”
At least 69 people were confirmed dead and hundreds were injured after earthquake struck.
It hit at the northern tip of Cebu, close to the city of Bogo, and was followed by four strong aftershocks
