Kids say they also need a break

Not only adults need vacations these days. So do kids.

Seventy-one percent of them say that’s the case, according to a new poll from Yesawich, Pepperdine, Brown and Russell.

How long a time period should they take?

Three-fourths of the youngsters surveyed said seven days or more is the ideal length.

Where do they want to vacation most?

Theme parks, of course, topped the list. That was followed by beach or lake vacations and cruises.

For specific theme parks, nearly half picked Disney as No. 1, followed by Universal Studios in Florida and Disneyland in California.

“From a kid’s point of view, it’s clear that vacations provide much-needed time to reconnect with family, whether through sharing a meal or talking more than they do at home,” said Peter Yesawich, CEO.

The poll surveyed more than 800 children between the ages of 6 and 17.

When asked the worst part of taking a vacation with mom and dad, the youngsters had two ready answers that may come as no surprise to parents: getting up early and riding in the car.
