Kimpton brand returning to New Orleans
Boutique brand Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants is making a return to New Orleans.
It will open in a new location in early 2020 close to the Central Business District and the French Quarter.
The Kimpton Hotel Fontenot will take shape after a conversion from the existing Staybridge Suites and adjacent historic buildings to become a 202-room property with a signature restaurant and bar.
Kimpton is collaborating with long-time partner JMI Realty on the project.
"Returning to New Orleans has been a priority for us for more than a decade," said Mike DeFrino, CEO of Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants.
The Kimpton brand left New Orleans after its hotel closed in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
