Kimpton checking in to Roatan
Boutique hotel brand Kimpton Hotels is introducing a third resort to the Caribbean region.
In cooperation with Texas based Vista Capital, Kimpton Roatan will be a rebrand of the existing Grand Roatan Resort with a reopening scheduled for late 2020.
The room count will be expanded to a total of 126 including 43 one- and two-bedroom suites and a presidential suite.
Hotel amenities include swimming pools, a restaurant, rooftop sky bar, lounge and beach bars, a spa and fitness center, and nearly 6,000 square feet of meetings and events space.
Situated on West Bay Beach, the Kimpton Roatn aims to showcase indigenous Paya artwork within the hotel’s facilities.
It plans to display Paya artifacts loaned from the national museum which will be on show in the hotel’s destination spa.
"We were so inspired and impassioned by the local culture here that we wanted to partner with a top operator to bring our vision to life," said Vista Capital owner David Dachner.
