Kingfisher not cancelling A380 order
Kingfisher Airlines announced today that it would not cancel its order for the A380 aircraft from Airbus despite a delay in the delivery schedule.
Kingfisher did say though that a compensation package with Airbus was being negotiated.
“The fundamentals of the industry haven’t changed since the time we have ordered the aircraft and the choice of aircraft remains the same, therefore, we are not canceling the order,” Kingfisher Airlines Chairman and Managing Director Vijay Mallya told reporters.”
He added that a compensation package with Airbus is being worked out.
Described as a full service, true value carrier Kingfisher Airlines was supposed to receive delivery of their first A-380 from Airbus in January 2010, which has now been postponed to December.
