KLM introduces cashless payments at Amsterdam Airport
KLM will transition to a fully cashless payment model for all services at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. This change applies to ticket purchases, excess baggage fees, and other extra options paid at the airport. This change also applies to passengers traveling with other airlines handled by KLM at Amsterdam Airport, such as Air France.
All payments will now be fast, easy, and secure, using convenient cashless methods such as debit cards, credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Wallet, or Samsung Pay.
As part of this transition, KLM will permanently close its central cash office at Amsterdam end of May 2026, marking a significant step toward creating a smarter and safer airport environment. These measures are designed to reduce waiting times and provide customers with a more secure and efficient experience.
To ensure a smooth journey, customers are advised to have an accepted payment card or digital payment method ready for any transactions at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
More flights to Europe
In the meantime, the Dutch carrier released its summer program. From March 29 through October 25, 2026, KLM will offer a schedule with 164 destinations worldwide, including 96 in Europe and 68 intercontinental destinations.
Compared to last year, the total number of seats is expected to grow by about 5%. This is the result of an expected increase of approximately 6% for European destinations and 4% for intercontinental destinations.
Starting this summer, passengers can choose some new destinations for the first time: Jersey, Santiago de Compostela, and Oviedo. KLM is also offering more flights to popular destinations this summer. For example, Cagliari will be served daily throughout the summer, and frequencies to Istanbul, Dubrovnik, Ljubljana, and Cork will be increased.
KLM will also operate more flights to several intercontinental destinations this summer. There will be extra flights to Cape Town at the start of the season, and KLM will offer daily service to Portland throughout the summer. San Diego, Miami, and Hyderabad will be available for the first time during the entire summer season. Additionally, San Jose will now be offered as a summer destination for the first time.
