KLM launching Salt Lake City, Miami flights

Sunday, 03 May, 2016 0
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will begin direct Salt Lake City-Amsterdam flights on May 5 with a twice weekly service initially.

It will be increased to three times weekly from July 4, operating the route with A330-200 jets, the airline said.

Commencing with flights on Thursdays and Saturdays, an additional Monday flight will begin in July.

The new flights will supplement existing service on the route operated by Air France-KLM joint venture partner Delta Air Lines.

KLM will also start flying from Miami to Amsterdam on October 30, 2016 for the winter season.

This marks a return to MIA after a more than four-year absence.

The service will run three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

"This summer we will already offer customers a record number of new cities: seven in Europe and two intercontinental destinations, namely Salt Lake City and Astana, Kazakhstan," said Pieter Elbers, KLM president and CEO.

"Next winter we will add two further destinations: Miami and Colombo. KLM took the first bold steps towards recovery in 2015 and we are now starting to reap the benefits. KLM is investing in its network and offering its customers an even wider choice of destinations."

Alongside JV partners Delta Air Lines and Alitalia, Air France-KLM operates the most comprehensive transatlantic joint venture with more than 250 flights a day.
