KLM signs codeshare agreements with airlines in China
Deal will connect Amsterdam flights with Chengdu, Beijing and Shanghai
KLM has signed a deal with China Southern Airlines and Sichuan Airlines to significantly expand codeshare connections.
The new partnership will offer passengers flying with all three airlines new routes and additional frequencies, connecting flights between Amsterdam and Chengdu, Beijing and Shanghai.
From today, KLM is offering passengers codeshare connections with Sichuan Airlines from its new Chengdu destination to the cities of Beijing, Chongqing, Kunming and Xian.
Sichuan Airlines is a regional carrier in which China Southern holds a minority interest.
This new agreement comes after a code-share agreement with China Southern Airlines on two new non-stop flights between Amsterdam and Chengdu, the codeshare connection between Beijing and Chengdu.
From June 24, KLM and China Southern will expand codeshare cooperation with new destinations and additional flight frequencies to existing destinations in China and Europe.
European passengers will be able to choose from five new codeshare destinations in China served by China Southern from Beijing and Chengdu under a KL flight number. The new cities are Jinan, Nanning, Urumqi, Xining and Yanji.
KLM will also operate codeshare service to six destinations served by China Southern from Chengdu, already served by China Southern from Beijing and Shanghai.
