KNTO unveils new image
Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) has a new corporate image to reflect contemporary tastes in today’s modern world. The former Korea National Tourism Organization (KNTO) becomes Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) with a new modern face and corporate image.
The new corporate image designed to illustrate the welcome of visitors to Korea, also uses the first Korean character of Korea Tourism Organization to symbolize the organization. The new corporate image will reflect Korea Tourism Organization’s active and progressive nature.
The circle on the very top of the image represents the globe and KTO’s role in promoting Korean culture to the world. The arm-like central image symbolizes the open arms and welcoming smile of Koreans. The circle on the very bottom of the image symbolizes perfect harmony and infinity.
Meanwhile, Korea Tourism Organization (CEO Kim Jong Min) has decided to create a ‘Tour & Culture Plaza’ in front of KTO’s Tourism Tower to create an open plaza for locals and visitors to enjoy. The plaza is expected to enhance the beauty of the restored Cheonggyecheon River surroundings with fountain and stage lights at night.
It will also serve as an environment-friendly plaza for exhibitions, concerts and promotional tourism and cultural events. The Tourist Information Center has been moved up from the lower ground level to ground level making it more visible and accessible to foreign visitors.
2005 is shaping up as a great year for Australian and New Zealand travelers to Korea. Up until the end of August there has been a 10.5% increase in Australian visitors compared to the same period last year. New Zealand visitors have increased by 5.1% in the same period. Recent marketing and advertising campaigns have stimulated interest in the country and shown the great diversity of travel experiences that can be enjoyed in Korea.
The present Autumn season is peak season for visitors to Korea with the beautiful golden shades of Autumn at their very best. Also, the winter season appeals to many with the chance to experience a ‘white Christmas’ and every year Korea’s ski resorts are drawing more and more Australian and New Zealand skiers.
