Korea Tourism Ministry YouTube channels hacked
Three YouTube channels operated by Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism have been hacked.
The official YouTube channels of the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art and Government of Republic of Korea were hacked in the past few days, the ministry said.
“The channel name and profile picture were altered and a live video was played on the account,” the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said, referring to the official Korean government channel.
The KTO’s YouTube channel, which has 500,000 subscribers, was hacked twice in two days.
Hacker streamed content about cryptocurrency investing on two of the channels.
The Ministry said it bolstered security on the channel and notified YouTube
Google Korea is ‘investigating the cause.’
