Korean Air rolls out perks for pets

Saturday, 06 Jun, 2017 0

Korean Air has launched a new frequent flyer programme offering perks just for your pooch.

In fact the new SKYPETS programme is available for all jetsetting pets, offering furry frequent flyers half price fares or even free seats.

The pet gets one stamp for every domestic flight and two for every overseas journey.

When six stamps have been collected, pets fly for half price domestically and on international flights for a dozen stamps.

For free trips, 12 stamps can be redeemed for flights within Korea and 24 for an international journey.

The airline says 25,000 passengers flew with their pets last year, a 50% increase compared to a year earlier.

JetBlue and Virgin Atlantic both have similar frequent flyer programmes for pets.

The programme is available for dogs, cats, birds and other small domesticated animals.
