Kuoni cancels Egypt excursions for 30 days

Kuoni has cancelled all Egypt excursions for the next 30 days due to security concerns.

But it said transfers to and from the airport are unaffected.

The operator said it is working closely with its ground agents who are keeping customers informed of any restrictions locally.

"The Kuoni operations team will continue to monitor the situation and follow the FTO and FCO advice and updates," it said.

It is now contacting clients with bookings travelling to restricted parts of Egypt within the next 21 days to offer a suitable alternative holiday.

It said if the Foreign Office advice remains unchanged, clients will be offered a full refund of their holiday if no acceptable alternative option can be found.

Holidaymakers in the resort of Hurghada have been told to stay inside their hotels by tourist police and nighttime curfews have been put in place.
