Kuoni reports earnings rise
Kuoni has reported a 144 per cent rise in earnings before interest and taxes to £6.82 million in the first half of 2008, compared with the same period last year.
However, the operator said the market in the UK was particularly difficult and demand had fallen off.
The majority of the company’s rise in profits came from its Scandinavian and Asian business units and an improvement in trading in Switzerland.
The company’s turnover rose 9.9 per cent in the period to £1.08 billion.
