Kuoni to Handle Bookings for New
Worldwide Weddings & Honeymoons Magazine

Kuoni Travel has been chosen by publisher World Titles Ltd to handle travel bookings for a new magazine Worldwide Weddings and Honeymoons aimed at loved-up couples looking to tie-the-knot abroad.

Worldwide Weddings and Honeymoons magazine serves a growing demand for
‘destination weddings’ and bridges the gap in the bridal magazine market for a title devoted to this growing £400 million UK market.

Publisher Martin Cody-Owen comments, “Once every girl’s image of a perfect wedding would most likely have involved a horse-drawn carriage and a picturesque country church but now this image is increasingly likely to be replaced by swaying palm trees and sandy beaches. Latest research from Mintel finds that one in six (16%) British weddings now take place abroad. This equates to an estimated 51,300 overseas weddings – a massive 43% increase since 2003 and it’s rising year on year.
The market for weddings abroad is set to reach £427 million by 2013 and the UK honeymoon market is already closer to £1.5billion with 300,000 couples each year spending more than £5000 on their honeymoons.
“Worldwide Weddings and Honeymoons magazine provides couples with all the inspiration, ideas, legal advice and some great deals to create the perfect destination wedding anywhere in the world. This presents a rare opportunity to provide objective, informed articles about weddings, honeymoons, blessings and renewal of vows, all of which we can monetize by leveraging the reader to buy holidays off the page without compromising the integrity of the editorial.
Terri Cody-Owen, Editor in Chief of Worldwide Weddings & Honeymoons adds: “An overseas wedding can also represent a cheaper option as the average cost of a wedding in the UK is as much as £20,000, compared with as little as £6,500 for one abroad. But surprisingly, Mintel research shows only one in seven adults (14%) recognise the cost saving benefits of marrying abroad. We know our readers will want their hands holding as they book the most important holiday of their life and we believe Kuoni are the ideal partners to offer a quality service to our readers.
Kuoni’s National Sales Manager Amanda Darrington commented, “Strategically, our relationship with Worldwide Weddings & Honeymoons is a good fit. If the magazine’s editorial features a destination wedding venue which also appears in our brochure we are ideally placed to handle reader-generated enquiries.
Cody-Owen concludes, “ Ask a couple if they want guaranteed clear blue skies, magical sunsets and the turquoise ocean as the backdrop for the perfect wedding and they’ll say, “I do!”
Worldwide Weddings and Honeymoons is available at WH Smiths and 2500 independent newsagents throughout the UK from June 2010 onwards. A full list of outlets is available to view on www.worldwideweddingsmagazine.com
