Largest hotel franchisor pushes for more $1 million booking days
The Cendant Hotel Group said the value of its single-day bookings made through its brand Web sites reached the $1 million mark three months earlier than last year.
May 17 was the company’s first $1 million day last year.
Year-to-date, Cendant’s Web sites are keeping pace with a 38% growth in revenue. Said Peter Stebel, Cendant Hotel Group executive vice president:
“At this rate, our Web sites may break the 2004 record of $52 million-dollar days for the years.”
He attributed the rise to a more user-friendly and streamlined Web site.
Cendant’s hotel Web sites are www.daysinn.com, www.super8.com, www.ramada.com, www.travelodge.com, www.howardjohnson.com, www.knightsinn.com, www.wingateinns.com and www.amerihostinn.com.
Cendant’s Hotel Group, is the world’s largest lodging franchisor with 6,408 hotels representing 521,241 rooms on five continents. All hotels are individually owned and operated under franchise agreements with Cendant subsidiaries.
