Las Vegas now a Covid ‘hot spot’
Sin City has been placed on the White House’s list of ‘areas of concern’ due to a resurgence of Covid cases. It describes Clark County and Las Vegas as a ‘sustained hot spot’ for infections, while Nevada is now considered a ‘high transmission state.’
Cases in Nevada have risen 23% in the past week. It saw another 1,000 new Covid cases and 20 deaths in the week ending 23 July.
Other high transmission states: include Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma and Utah.
