Lastminute.com links to new BAA booking sites
Lastminute.com is to supply flights, accommodation, dynamically packaged trips and travel insurance to new regional airport websites set up by BAA.
The seven regional airport websites will feature holiday options based on the flying programmes from each.
The holidays are displayed online through www.baa.com or through each of the airports’ websites. The seven airports with websites are: Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Southampton.
The seven tailored travel booking sites are collectively experiencing more than 200,000 unique users a month, according to the airports operator
The arrangement comes a year after the online retailer started supplying bookable travel content to the main BAA website.
BAA and lastminute.com have a development programme in place over the next 18 months, which seeks to include more products to the portfolio, while also building on the customer proposition with more service initiatives, the company said.
The airport operator’s head of e-cmmerce Claire Zuurbier said: “With BAA providing the brand identity and lastminute.com providing the booking engine and products, we hope to continue our success and eventually expand our portfolio of products.”
