Lastminute.com partners with the Guardian for new city guides
Lastminute.com has joined together with the Guardian to launch a series of online city guides in a partnership due to run for 12 months.
Three city guides have been unveiled this month – London, Paris and New York – with additional cities to follow throughout the year.
Each guide features an interactive map, insights from ‘on the ground’ bloggers and a playlist of the city’s music from each city, chosen by local, well-known musicians, including like Chris Keating from Brooklyn-based band Yeasayer.
The Guardian’s user-generated travel reviews are fed in to the city guides, alongside the Guardian’s existing editorial content.
Mark Maddock, managing director for Lastminute.com UK and Ireland, said: “We see our partnership with the Guardian as a brilliant tool for travellers looking for that extra bit of insight to help them on their journey.”
Sally Burtt-Jones, group head, brand partnerships, Guardian News & Media, said: "This partnership enables Lastminute.com to make their brand visible to our audience of passionate and cultured travellers, and fits in perfectly with their ‘Stories Start Here’ positioning."
