Lastminute turned London Eye blue for NHS workers
Lastminute.com turned the London Eye blue last night to show support for NHS workers battling to help those affected by the coronavirus.
The online travel agency took over sponsorship of the iconic London landmark last month for at least three years.
As part of the sponsorship deal, the London Eye will be lit up in lastminute.com‘s corporate pink most nights of the year.
However, it said yesterday: "We’re incredibly proud to be showing our support for all the amazing work the NHS is doing, by watching our iconic lastminute.com London Eye turn blue as part of the #ClapForOurCarers movement.
"NHS workers and medical professionals up and down the country are working round the clock to help those affected by Covid-19, and we want to say a massive thank you to them for all their bravery, dedication and hard work."
The London Eye switched to blue at 8pm when people in lockdown around the country clapped from their front doors, balconies and windows to show support for NHS staff.
