Lehigh Valley Updates Group Tour Planner
With new hotels, attractions and restaurants continuing to enhance the region’s offerings for groups, Lehigh Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau recently updated its Lehigh Valley Group Tour Planner.
The 45-page, three-ring binder is a popular resource designed to help tour operators plan tours to the three-city Eastern Pennsylvania region. It features more than 50 attractions, events, museums and historical sites that cater to the group tour and motorcoach industries. New additions include listings for America on Wheels, Lehigh Valley Grand Prix, Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs/Coca-Cola Park, Dutch Springs, Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem (which opens May 22), State Theatre Center for the Arts and Allentown Symphony Hall.
The region’s eight most popular tour itineraries are highlighted in a special section at the front of the planner. Created around themes, they include:
“The Ultimate Youth Excursions” – Created for student groups, this tour adds a few extracurricular activities to their educational or sports itinerary such as thrill rides and water slides at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom and a round of mini golf at Putt U.
“Hats Off to the Ladies” – Especially created for sassy seniors, the tour includes shopping at the Lehigh Valley Mall, a musical performance at Penn’s Peak and homemade chocolates at Josh Early Candies.
“Caution: Men @ Play” – Meant to encourage male bonding, this tour features a Lehigh Valley IronPigs AAA minor league baseball game, kart racing at Lehigh Valley Grand Prix and microbrewed beers at Allentown Brew Works.
The Lehigh Valley region is about one hour north of Philadelphia and less than two hours west of New York City. It is home to Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton and is the state’s third largest metro region.
