Lets Go Travel bought by HWT
The South West’s largest independent agency group has been bought by Harvey World Travel.
The acqusition for an undisclosed sum of 33-branch Lets Go Travel almost doubles HWT’s UK branch network to 60 outlets.
Lets Go, formed more than 20 years ago, has branches across the region including a new agency in Bristol, a business travel division, leisure travel call centre, specialist ski and cruise centres and franchise branches in Ilfracombe and Exter Airport.
All of the current Let Go Travel branches will be rebranded as Harvey World Travel and feature a dedicated Virgin Holidays area as part of HWT’s links with the operator.
HWT managing director John Donnelly said: “Harvey World Travel will shortly become the fifth travel brand on the high street. We offer the consumer the next generation of travel agencts and will also become the largest ABTA bonded franchise operation in the travel sector.”
Australian-owned HWT plans more UK branches through acquisition plus greenfield site development.
Maunder said: “Once having met the senior management at Harvey World Travel, I had no doubt that everyone’s future would be more secure and more existing as part of this international market leading group. Harvey World Travel met my key criteria, i.e. that they are independent like us.”
