Lib Dems to replace APD
The Liberal Democrats would replace Air Passenger Duty with a per plane duty.
The party’s election manifesto says a per plane tax would capture freight aircraft for the first time.
The manifesto also calls for the introduction of a higher rate of per plane duty for domestic flights "for which alternative and less polluting travel is readily available".
The Liberal Democrats would match the Conservatives and cancel plans for a third runway at Heathrow and any expansion of other airports in the South East.
