Libya is being touted as the ultimate long weekend break by specialist operator Kirker Holidays.

The country is being featured in a new North Africa brochure with four-night escorted tours starting at £1,123 per person.

The trip takes in Tripoli, Sabratha and the Roman site of Leptis Magna. The tour includes a specialist tour lecturer, flights, transfers and four nights’ accommodation with breakfast.

The 24-page brochure also includes tailor-made holidays to Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt.

A five-night itinerary to Egypt, where a combination of Cairo and Luxor, including guided tours of the Egyptian Museum and the Pyramids in Giza, leads in at £1,295.
