Lilianfels wins top award
Lilianfels Blue Mountains Resort & Spa has been awarded “Best Luxury Accommodation” in The Australian newspaper’s 2006 Travel and Tourism Awards.
The national award was voted by readers of The Australian, who chose Lilianfels for the top accolade, ahead of sister Sydney property, The Observatory Hotel.
Robyn Pontynen, General Manager of Lilianfels Blue Mountains Resort and Spa who received the award said how thrilled her team were to receive news of the win, adding “What makes this award truly special is that we have been recognised by The Australian’s readers and singled out by them.” “We are very grateful for their support.”
Robyn added, “Our guests’ expectations are constantly growing, so to keep up with this trend, it has always been our aim to provide a unique range of inspiring experiences.”
The Australian’s award follows on from readers of US Conde Nast Traveler Magazine voting Lilianfels one of the top 3 Hotels in the Pacific Rim in their October issue and Australian Gourmet Traveller Magazine presenting Darley’s Restaurant at Lilianfels with two stars in their November 2006 Restaurant Guide.
Lilianfels is a historic 85 room European style country house, boasting glorious mountains views and offering what is described as a true oasis for the senses, nestled on the edge of the magnificent Jamison Valley, overlooking the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park, also offering a breath-taking escape for romantics, a delight for gourmets and a wonder for lovers of nature.
