Linking the links in Vietnam
Vietnam Airlines has re-introduced its Dalat-Danang service, a move that has been welcomed by golf management companies in the region.
Dalat is home to Dalat Palace Golf Club, while in the Danang area, on Vietnam’s central coastline, two golf courses have opened in the last 10 months – the Colin Montgomerie designed Montgomerie Links and the Greg Norman designed Dunes Course at Danang Golf Club.
A marketing cooperative to promote golf on the central coast, near Danang, is now on line at www.vietnamgolfcoast.com
Montgomerie Links and Danang Golf Club share the same swath of sandy coastline and with the new air links provided between Dalat and Danang all three courses are connected through Vietnam Airlines’ hubs at Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Until July 15, a one-way Dalat-Danang ticket sells for US$25 – 50 percent off the regular fare.
Vietnam Airlines operates a 70-seat ATR72 aircraft on the one-hour route out of Ho Chi Minh, flying Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
The service stops in Danang and turns around in Dalat for the flight back to Ho Chi Minh City. Flight time between Danang and Dalat is 30 minutes. A similar service will operate out of Hanoi
Danang Airport is also served by flights from Singapore and Guangzhou
