Liverpool expects summer to be ‘one of busiest’
Liverpool airport saw passenger numbers climb 7% last month compared with April 2016.
However, like other airports, it would have seen a natural boost in traffic last month due to the late Easter, which fell in March last year but in April this year.
The airport saw the start of two more routes over the Bank Holiday weekend, when Blue Air started a three times a week service to Alicante and Thomson Airways launched services to Ibiza.
Paul Winfield, director of air service development for Liverpool John Lennon said this was expected to be ‘one of Liverpool Airport’s busiest summer seasons’.
