Love hotel platform Yanolja acquires Indian hotel tech firm
South Korea’s most popular hotel booking app has made its first significant acquisition after getting financial backing from Booking Holdings.
Yanolja Co has snapped up India based eZee Technosys, which offers a range of hospitality management tools including revenue management and loyalty programme integration.
The acquisition gives Yanolja more than 20,000 eZee clients.
Yanolja has built up its customer base primarily as a platform for ‘by the hour’ bookings at the country’s love hotels.
Although love hotels don’t quite have the same sleazy reputation nowadays, Yanolja has been looking to expand its appeal to the mainstream market.
The deal will allow the company to ‘develop the fully automated hotel management platform to not only substantially enhance customer experience but also lower hotels’ operational costs,’ Kim Jong Yoon, head of Yanolja’s online business, said.
The Yanolja Co platform comprises more than 10,000 rooms in South Korea and Southeast Asia.
